Default Anybody else really into Spanish/flamenco guitar?

I've been getting into it lately, got a nice cedar cerventes crossover gave it a whirl on my propriatary process and I'm in spanish guitar heaven along with these guys!

I really like how the style lends itself to expressive improvisation similar to playing the blues. I think it's a style of guitar playing that's really underrated.

Forgot to say, it really is disappointing how little fanfare those clips get on Youtube or much of anywhere else. Such amazing control and passionate musicianship that really deserves to be recognized.

They have a good sound. Will look at their site some more.

I'm starting to incorporate it into my blues style as well. Cool stuff.

I got bit by the flamenco bug a few months ago - it's very addictive. So much so, that after 17yrs playing other styles I sold all my other guitars to focus solely on flamenco! This was a bit hasty on my part, and so one of the 2 flamencos I bought is now up for sale so I can get a steel string back in the fold The point is, never before have I felt more inspired to really work on improving and learning new techniques. The more I learn, the more I realize how much there is to learn.

I have never come across another genre that had as much vibrant history and passion as flamenco (IMO). Here are a couple of my favorites:

Jeronimo Maya:

Myrddin De Cauter:

Moraito Chico:

PS - a lot of people/guitarists fall in love with the guitar, but don't forget the root of it all - cante (singing). It took me a while to fully warm up to the cante, but now I can't go without.

PPS - definitely come on over to the Foro Flamenco!

I can appreciate it as much as anyone else, but there's just something... whenever I hear Flamenco, I always think of following my Wife around in Coldwater Creek...
