Well, to say this treatment on the back has been "debated" would be an understatement lol. John and I discussed treatments for the back almost "ad nauseum". We thought of leaving it totally sapwood, adding various treatments of more or less of a backstrip, adding something between these segments, etc. etc. etc.
This photo shows it just before we made it a permanent addition. After it was in place, John said "now I sort of wish we hadn't done anything at all". Ha! Ain't hindsight great?? lol
I guess the wonderful thing about wood is we could take it out, but I really wanted something back there and I think this will be fine. It has just a touch of some red which we'll tastefully carry into the front of the guitar. Merrily along we go...
