Default Thoughts on Garrison AG500

Hi, it would be very helpful to me if I could read some reviews of a Garrison AG500 from those who have played it.

Thanks

Not to be contrarian here--but it seems to me "Harmony Central" is always biased toward whatever these folks own---usually very positive ( like who listens to someone who HATES their new "baby"??). The only real dissing I've read at length are the "Estebans"--whose reviews are both funny and sad. Gave me an evening of chuckles. FWIW.

Hey there...

i have had the same thought, but i did read through the review that came up, and it seemed like good thoughtful insight from the owner, with a slightly higher than average ratings on some areas, slightly lower on others, but it came through as honest and thoughtful.... I know what you are talking about, but i guess these types of things will always tend to attract the disaffected or the sycophants who want to air their views.

But then again, i have entered several reviews of my own stuff, and was honest and fair, so i try to give other reviewers the benefit of the doubt (i normally filter out the all-10s and all-1's anyway)

Ya I take the harmony central reviews with a grain of salt. Same for customer reviews on sites like music123.com or other online dealers. It just seems that nearly every review reads as follows "My Peavy Junior is so friggin sweet! 10 out of 10 in every category. It sounds just as good as a Gibson Les Paul, and I should know because I've been playing Smoke on the Water for 5 months!".

Ok, that's an exaggeration, but you know what I mean. I would really like to read opinions of people who really understand what makes an acoustic guitar sing, versus somebody who bought the guitar. There are far too many reviewers that give 10 out of 10 for their guitar simply because not too many people out there want to admit they bought a 2 out of 10 guitar. And ya, the Esteban reviews are hilarious!

Did you perchance do a "search" here on Garrisons? Seems within the past coupla months, some people posted on them-although I'm not sure it was your prospective model. Then, we had one kinda crazy guy who LOVED them--SRV/Cane/Treehugger whatever... I believe he has left the house though.

Yes, thank you. I did a search for "Garrison" and read all the posts, but I am looking for experience with a specific model, the AG500. And I'm very curious about this crazy Garrison guy who used to be on here. Sorry I missed those days. What's the story there?
