Smile *SOLD* - 2022 Urlacher Single 0 12 Fret Cutaway - Ultra Rare Tonewood -Videos

2022 Urlacher Parlor (Single 0) 12 Fret Cutaway Western Red Cedar over Pink Ivory!

An unbelievably unique, one of a kind instrument! This guitar is really a stunning piece of artwork. The jewel-like back has a striking range of color and figure. Rebecca Urlacher has been building guitars for 20 years and is a former student of Ervin Somogyi. After successful shows at La Conner and elsewhere her builds are in high demand and there is a mutli-year wait for her instruments.

Unforeseen financial needs force the reluctant listing this magical instrument. I'm offering a 5 day inspection period to make sure it's right for you.

This is some epic and super rare wood, just ask Tom Sands:

Technical Details Here:

https://www.wood-database.com/pink-ivory/

Even though its a small guitar, it doesn't give up much vs larger guitars. Huge voice in a small form factor. Doesn't take much energy to get it to sing but way more headroom than you might expect.

Different tonewoods, but very similar tonal characteristics, showing what this model can do:

Really great combination of features; Small body, 12-fret, short scale, cutaway, micro bevel, combined with generous string spacing yield a supremely comfortable and easy to play instrument.

Surprising power and volume for it's size. Insanely responsive and sensitive. Very fat, singing, lyrical trebles. Great note separation and balance with an overall 3 dimensional quality that is downright addictive.

Pink Ivory also known as Red Ivorywood, is one of the rarest, and most unique guitar tonewoods. Pieces large enough for guitars are unobtanium.

Lighter in weight, but similar in density to Malaysian Blackwood or Macassar Ebony, it makes a spectacular sounding instrument. The Western Red Cedar top adds warmth and a snappy immediacy to each note.

* Top- Western Red Cedar
* Back and Sides - Pink Ivory also known as Red Ivorywood
* Cutaway
* Soundport
* Microbevel
* Brazilian Rosewood Bridge
Neck - Honduran Mahogany
Fretboard, Binding, End Graft, Heel Cap, Headplate - Figured Macassar Ebony
Rosette and Headplate - Figured Wood Tiles
Frets - Jescar EVO
Truss Rod - Mark Blachard Dual Action
Tuners - Schertler 18:1
Finish - UV Urethane
* Case - Calton Burgundy/Burgundy

* Indicates Upgrade

This small bodied guitar punches way above it size:

Based off Martin 0– 12 frets to body
Lower Bout – 13 1/2″
Upper Bout – 9 5/8″
Body Length – 19 1/8″
Body Depth at Neck 3 1/2"
Body Depth at Tail 4 1/4"
Total Frets – 19
Scale Length 25"
Nut Width 1.78"
String Spacing 2.28"

This is an amazing guitar in all respects. Made with the finest exotic tonewoods, by one of today's most gifted Luthiers who's work stands with the best Somogyi apprentices ie Kostal, Buendia, Matsuda, Sands, Beauregard, etc.

Excellent condition. More photos available here:

https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...&postcount=101

2022 Build price was $9,680 plus $1400 Calton Case = $11080. Rebecca raised her prices this year, so current cost would be $1000 more plus a multi-year wait.

$8200 was $OLD Firm Shipped/Insured.

Folks,

Rebecca is building some of the finest guitars out there, and this one is no exception. Seth brought it to B.I.G. and allowed a few of us to play it. There was a consensus among us in the belief that Rebecca has mastered the small body build. Her guitars play effortlessly, and this one is a beauty.

Seth, I'm sad to see you have to part with this. If I had the spare change, I'd be all over it.

GLWTS.

Thanks for the kind words Dan! I agree about the small body build comment. I've played 3 Urlacher Dreads, 5 OMs and 3 Parlors, and while all great, the Parlors just have that little bit o' extra magic. It's the model Rebecca built when she did the Somogyi voicing class. Her build came in 1st place at the judging contest at the end.

I play it everyday and hope things will work out so I can keep it. We'll see, cheers!

Hi Seth, sorry to see that you're selling the Urlacher. It's a beautiful guitar.

I was pleased to meet you at BIG this year and I enjoyed our conversations. I hope that you can get things squared away, and that I can see you again at the next BIG.

Al

Thanks Al. I really enjoyed talking shop with you and playing your Wilborn (which was one of the best guitars at the show IMO).

It's all part of the guitar adventure. I feel blessed to live in a time when there are so many amazing guitars and builders out there. Things will turn around and I'll be back in the saddle at some point. Cheers!

Smile Oooohhhhh….

Sweet axe from a very conscientious seller. Seth and I got together a while back to play each other’s guitars and a fine time was had!

This gentleman takes excellent care of his instruments. Buy with confidence.

I have not played this one but I have heard about it from folks who have, and the reviews were stellar

Seth, maybe ask for first right of refusal if the buyer goes to sell down the road???

I would.

Cheers

Paul

Added some info and have listed this on Reverb. I'm including a 5 day trial and am taking offers. If you're interested shoot me a message and lets talk.

hey I'm seriously interested in this. I'm looking for something to replace my 2001 Goodall RGCC which I sold due to ergonomic issues, and replaced it with another guitar that...went badly, but I should be getting a full refund on it soon.

This looks like it ticks a lot of the boxes. If I bought it, would you consider adding a K&K passive pickup and strap buttons offensive modifications?
