Default Country Road... sorta...

Forgive me if this is sacrilegious at all, but the late, great John Denver's song always made me homesick, and I don't live where I came from.

I changed the feel of it accordingly, thus:

Hi Rick,
Always love John Denver, and this song is a fav!
Your version is so refreshing, and sounds very modern.
And your guitar tuning is quite nice, what tuning are you using.
Lovely chords, and great singing.
Thank you.
Rene

Hi Rick,

Man, it sounds like a completely different song, but I like it! Very cool and full of emotion!

Really nice, Rick!

Wow, that was excellent Rick.

If you're not a pro, you should be.

What did you do with the tuning? Man, that is a killer rendition of a classic turned upside down. I’m sold. Really good work.

Ah Rene, that's very kind of you, thank you!

The tuning is D,G,d,g,b,e... I like the voicing you can get with it.

Ah now that's very kind, thank you! I do about 4-6 paid gigs a month at the moment, so I'm getting there

Thank you so much! The tuning is D,G,d,g,b,e... so kind of approaching an open G but with the top strings left in standard. Makes for nice pedalled lows or drones in both G and D. You can get some cool bluesy things happening with it, too... I'll post some soon

Great interpretation of a classic. Love how you made it your own.

Got me surprised, beautiful.

A little like Creed does Denver.

Thank you Steve, it can be nerve-wracking thing sharing such a well-known, iconic (and brilliant) song once you've messed with the formula. Glad you liked it

Ok, that was special. I play the sing-a-long/campfire version, but the arrangement, vocal and playing in that video takes this song to a whole different place. Love it.

Let me agree that your version is special. Great playing and great singing with feeling. I found myself doing (…or at least trying to do) harmony to your voice. Pretty sure that John D. would approve.

Thank you so much! Glad you liked it and I haven't done a disservice to anyones important song... always a concern when you go re-arranging things like this

That's a lovely comment, thank you so much. I could use the harmonies live, if you lived closer!

I hope it doesnt ruin anyone's day to know that he didn't write that song. Bill & Taffy Danoff (his backup singers) did.

I think its one of the great pop songs of our time and as much fun to play as any song.
