I tried a set of these ebony pins made by Crosby. I found them on Amazon. I think they were about $13. I like the look better than the stock tusq it shipped with.

Those look very similar to the ones that came with my Blues Creek J-185 kit. I agree that they look very good! I also might be hearing things but I think they sound warmer than plastic pins (which I also tried on my guitar).

I tried some Ebony pins, seemed to dull the tone a bit too much. I guess you could call that a warmer tone ?? I preferred the Tusq. But that's just me. They do look nice !
