2009 Martin 000-28ECM OFF THE MARKET
2009 Martin 000-28ECM Eric Clapton Limited Edition
These were a limited production run of 461 guitars (natural and sunburst). It is not to be confused with the standard 000-28 EC. I have owned four of these, and they are exceptionally great sounding guitars. With a Carpathian Spruce top (European equivalent to Adirondack - George Gruhn praises both Adirondack and Carpathian equally) and Madagascar Rosewood back and sides, it really doesn't get any better than this. Madagascar Rosewood is so difficult to source today, which is a shame, because it is such a good tonewood. These guitars are appropriate for all types of music. If there was ever an all-rounder this would be it. Fingerpick gently, strum loud, flatpick bluegrass licks. It really excels in all genres. The abalone and mother-of-pearl fishbone rosette along with the fretboard diamond markers done in the same material are gorgeous. This guitar is virtually unplayed. No fretwear at all. It comes with the original hangtags on both the guitar and on the original case. A pickup has never been installed and it comes with the original endpin which has also never been installed. Super thin nitrocellulose finish. You can see where the finish is settling into the natural wood grain. Recently given a fresh set up, it is ready to either be put in your collection or played on a daily basis. There is a small indentation near the middle B tuner (pictured). Really a stellar instrument in beautiful condition. Out of all the Limited Edition Clapton models, the 000-28M is one of the few that can be had at a reasonable price. The woods alone (Carpathian/Madagascar) on a brand new custom model Martin would command a much higher price; forget about the abalone and MOP rosette, fret markers, and collectability associated with these. Here is an unedited sound sample with a pair of Neumann KM184s for your listening pleasure: https://youtu.be/wsh-NDSWr-A Feel free to ask questions. $NO LONGER FOR SALE net to me + shipping from KS Model: 000-28M Eric Clapton Construction: Mahogany Blocks/Dovetail Neck Joint Body Size: 000-14 Fret Top Wood: Solid Carpathian Spruce Rosette: Style 45 Top Bracing Pattern: Standard X Scalloped Top Braces: Solid Sitka Spruce 5/16 inches Back Material: Solid Madagascar Rosewood Back Purfling: HD Zig-Zag Side Material: Solid Madagascar Rosewood Endpiece: Grained Ivoroid Endpiece Inlay: Black/White/Black Boltaron Binding: Grained Ivoroid Top Inlay Stlye: Fine Herringbone Side Inlay: Black/White/Black Boltaron Back Inlay: Black/White/Black Boltaron Neck Material: Select Hardwood Neck Shape: Modified V Nut Material: Bone Headstock: Solid/Diamond/Square Taper Headplate: Solid Madagascar Rosewood Heelcap: Grained Ivoroid Fingerboard Material: Solid Black Ebony Scale Length: 24.9 inches Number of frets clear: 14 Number of frets total: 20 Fingerboard Width at Nut: 1 3/4 inches Fingerboard width at 12th fret: 2 1/4 inches Fingerboard Position Inlays: Diamond and Squares-Long Pattern/Bordered in M.O.P./Signature between 19th and 20th Frets Finish Back and Sides: Polished Gloss Finish Top: Polished Gloss with Vintage Sunburst Finish Neck: Polished Gloss Bridge Material: Solid Black Ebony Bridge Style: Belly with Drop-in Saddle Bridge String Spacing: 2 1/4 inches Saddle: 16 inch radius/Compensated/Bone Tuning Machines: Waverly Nickel with Butterbean Knobs Bridge and End Pins: Bone with Black Dots Pickguard: Delmar Tortoise Color Case: 533E Geib Style Included Interior Label: Signed by Eric Clapton Numbered in Sequence with Total (461 Combined)

I have this exact guitar and finish and can say it's one of the finest I've ever played. Someone will be very happy.

Shocked this one is still available. Los of serious interest, but no sale yet. Such a great guitar.

Wow what a gorgeous guitar. If only I wasn’t buying a new house and moving...

These really are outstanding guitars. I have also owned four of them, and if I didn't still have two, I'd be all over this. I very much regret selling the 28 burst I had, which may be why I sought out another 28 and a 42 burst. GLWS!

Why does life always have to get in the way of us owning whatever guitars we want! [emoji23]
