Default **SOLD** 2014 Santa Cruz OM/PW Cedar/EIR short scale, Like New! **SOLD**

2014 Santa Cruz OM/PW Cedar/EIR short scale, Like New -- **SOLD**

Selling my 2014 Santa Cruz OM/PW custom. I am the registered original owner. This unique Cruz has a Mastergrade Cedar top, EIR back & sides, and the highly desirable 24.75" short scale. All other specs -- 1 3/4" nut, 2 3/16" saddle spacing, soft mod-v neck, ebony fingerboard/bridge/pins, etc., are standard to the regular OM/PW.

Forget what you think you know about Cedar. This is still an OM/PW, and can take a flatpick, aggressive strumming, or gentle fingerstyle with aplomb. Its tonal complexion is on the darker side, and very Martin-like. Of all the guitars I've owned in my 8 years of playing (over 25 now), this one is the easiest and most forgiving to play of them all. And it's LOUD, and responsive all over the neck.

In 9.7 out of 10 condition, with a small mark on the headstock near the low E tuner (pictured) the only item to note, which was there when I bought the guitar new. Perfect setup of 6/64", 4/64", and 0.004" relief. Only the faintest hint of fretwear on the B string, 1st 5 frets.

Please note: The shipping window has expired and this guitar is now available for LOCAL SALE ONLY for the Winter months. I am located in Hopewell, NJ for those who wish to audition this guitar in person. Many thanks -- B.

** SOLD **

Downsizing, so no trades please. Pictures and sound sample below...thanks for looking!

Hi Tony! Thanks for checking in. Yeah, you had the inside scoop that I was thinking about selling this one.

Hope all is well, and that you are still enjoying that Goodall

Okay, I've gotten multiple requests for a sound sample, which I've now included in the OP.

The strings are Santa Cruz Low Tension (about 1 month old). I'm using a Dava Control Pick for the strumming part (1) and a BlueChip TD-50 for the flatpicking parts (2 & 3).

Thanks for all the PMs so far!

how much does the 24.75 short scale affect tone and projection since the tension is lower

Quality of tone and projection is typically not an issue for builders like Santa Cruz who really understand how to build and voice their guitars for short scale.

That said, every guitar is an individual and should be judged accordingly. Back when I bought this years ago, the dealer also had a Euro/EIR short scale OM/PW in stock that had nowhere near the volume and power that this Cedar topped OM/PW did. Believe me, I have really laid into this one at times and it just gets louder. You may notice from my sig that I also have a J-45 for sale. Despite the bigger body size, this OM/PW Cedar will absolutely bury the J-45 in a head to head volume matchup. It's not even a fair fight.

Thanks for your question and hope this answer helped a bit.

Great seller with a great ear...He probably does not need the "plug" but, it is well deserved.

If I hand a different hand requirement, I would not hesitate to move on this one for myself. And, he is spot on about the cedar....play the tar out of it. It will bring you all the volume you need.

GLWS!

It's imagine why the cedar would scare anybody away, unless they wanted to bang on it like a hard rocker. Turn this into a lefty for me and I'll be interested :-)

This seems like a great deal for an amazing sounding Santa Cruz. Can’t imagine how you’d go wrong with this one.

Hi Wesley. Great to hear from you!

Say, how about a straight up trade for your Santa Cruz Tree?

I eagerly await your PM...

Last call for shipping will be Monday 12/9.

After that, the guitar will only be for sale locally for the winter months. If you're on the fence, and not within driving distance of Hopewell, NJ, please act soon!
