Arrow SOLD: Kinnaird Adi/Old growth Brazilian 12 fret cutaway Round Peak...*VIDEO added*

Kinnaird Adi/Brazilian Round Peak

If you haven't heard about this variety of guitar, tune in!! This instrument just flat out rocks. This is an all around amazing guitar. Not only is it gorgeous, but it can hold its own in virtually ALL settings. One of our beloved AGF'ers says it best..."this thing will part your hair at 40 paces"

The name...Round Peak: You have to hand it to John Kinnaird for the creative use of this term. You may or may not know, in the Carolina mountains resides a secluded community referred to as "Round Peak". John tells me that the music they play there is a completely different variety than you might hear "one valley over". This guitar is designed as a tribute to that area, but really built to handle about any style of music.

.................You want a fingerstyle guitar with nice note separation? It's here!
.................You want a "wall of sound" strumming guitar? It's here!
.................Stunning Alternate tunings? it's here!
.................Hard drivin' banjo killin' Blue grass? It's here!

What makes this guitar really special is it is a larger body for full deep rich
sound, and yet the bevels make it like cuddling up to a cozy warm blanket. The shape is along the lines of a slope shoulder dred, and yet has all of the playing comfort of a Grand Auditorium shape plus the bevels for added player comfort. The 12 fret design combined with the short scale makes it easy to play. The cutaway allows you access to a comfortable 14 frets.

Mint condition. This guitar was built in 2018 for a friend of mine and
through a set of circumstances he had to reduce his guitar holdings and it
wound up with me and I simply must sell it to cover some expenses.

Tone: I promise you will NOT be disappointed with this one. Tone absolutely explodes out of this one and it is rich and pure. Wowser is THE word!! Gorgeous to look at, even prettier to play. The woods ring like a bell. Ya know that sound you hear when the wood is just a chiming?? You'll hear that in this guitar...what I call "sizzle"!! Additionally, the low end is really strong.

The woods:

Adirondack Spruce: Adirondack defined guitars of the pre-WWII era.
Tonally, Adirondack is even more dynamic than Sitka, with a higher ceiling
for volume. The payoff is the ability to drive an Addie top hard and hear it
get louder and louder without losing clarity; it’s hard to outplay it. Another
sonic nuance that many love about Adirondack is "an undeniable sweetness
in every note, especially in the mids."

Brazilian Rosewood: Considered the "holy grail" of guitar tonewood,
Brazilian rosewood produces a loud, warm, rich tone, with full deep bases,
brilliant trebles, delivering excellent sustain and clarity. Its appearance
varies from brick red and burnt orange to shades of dark brown to violet
color with black spidery streaks.

A few important particulars:

Build date: mid 2018
Nut width: 1 3/4
Top wood: Adirondack Spruce
Back and sides: Old growth Brazilian Rosewood
Binding, bevels: highly figured Cocobolo
Paua Abalone around the guitar perimeter
Cocobolo Bound Sound port
Rib and arm Bevels
Multi piece Laminated neck
String spacing 2 1/4
Lower bout width 16 1/4"
Lower bout depth 4 1/2
Short scale
Gotoh tuners with custom buttons
Hard shell case

Price: SOLD!! I will consider reasonable offers and some trades plus a BIG hunk of cash.

Thanks Paul! If anyone out there knew the number of high end guitars that you have owned that these guitars have replaced, they would be all over this one. Someone is in for a mind blowing experience.

I bought a guitar from Mike a little while back on these forums. Top shelf experience. Go forth with confidence!

Mike... you've got to have (or at least did, before this 2 year barrage of classifieds) the most amazing stable of acoustic guitars I've ever seen.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I've found that doing what is right for each and every buyer goes a long way towards great life experiences. I have sold a bunch of guitars over the past couple of years. And yes, some of them guitars that I would love to have back but sometimes ya just gotta let loose of them. This guitar would rank in the top 10 tonally of all guitars I've owned. A great friend of mine who is a studio musician just slobbered all over this guitar when he played it. Standard or alternate tunings is just blows your mind.

Someone will love this guitar. If you have an interest in it, reach out to me. I've had a number of people try to buy this, but just haven't found the right offer yet. Make me an offer. I'm a very good listener.

I am admittedly a big Kinnaird fan. I've owned a bunch of brother Steve's creations but have yet to own one from John. It has been in my bucket list for the longest time to do so, but why is it every time Mike decides to list a really cool JK, it's when I am overloaded or cash strapped? I am starting to think you're doing this on intention, Mike!

Seriously, this seems like a killer 12 fretter. You will also be hard pressed to find a better guy to deal with here. Somebody will be in for a treat!

Thanks Rye! It's time to check that box on your bucket list and make yourself the owner of this awesome guitar. I know that you have the very guitars in your stable that suit me pretty well also, so I'd certain entertain trades from you!

And everyone else should take a hard look at this one. It will blow the doors off of some substantially higher priced guitars for sale right now!

Smile One more thing about this shape...

Esteemed AGF folks. Do NOT be put off by the 12 fret neck join. Due to John's low profile neck heel and cutaway you have about the same upper neck Access as most 14 fretters!

John Kinnaird guitars feature:
super rigid laminated and Carbon Fiber reinforced necks,
with low neck heel, headstock faceplate, backstrap and ducktail volute for strength and beauty.
Super hard Jescar EVO Gold color frets for durability and good looks.
Ultra lightweight laminated Neck Block and End Blocks. Usually Cedar
Most have Gotoh 510 tuners.
Hide Glue where it helps TONE and VOLUME!
Each guitar built entirely by JK one at a time.
I am sure I have left out something else BOSS
The bevels and port on this one will certainly enhance the next owner's playing experience!

Caution! You may decide you need another!!! Haha

Hope this helps someone decide to give this beauty a new home...

Paul

Ha! Well, what can I say?? Someone...maybe you...will certainly enjoy this one. Personally, I think I could just sit and stare at this thing and be pretty happy. But when you play it a choir of angels emerge and WOW...enter guitar heaven...

I've had a couple of guys reach out these past few days and who knows it may be gone soon. It's not too late to speak to me all y'all out there.
