Default NGD - X10 Green Machine with custom scale, nut and bridge

Custom $$$ went toward enhancing acoustic performance for me: 24.6” scale, 1.75” nut and single saddle. Gig bag only. I have a 2017 X7 Select Series St. Paddy’s Day Special, also Emerald Green. It came with Baggs pickup, but I never play plugged in.

The X7 has been my #1 since arrival, liking it’s unique playability, shape and sound. After a year or so, I started thinking I’d like it bigger. Then the new design X7 and X10 were announced. Both are very appealing smaller guitars and bigger than my X7. I went with the larger X10, but worried that it might be too big. It’s not. It’s a larger small guitar, deeper than a Martin dread but still feeling small. Delightfully playable, pleasant rumble against your body, “Emerald bevels and curves”!

I also prefer the larger X10 headstock, more aesthetically pleasing and less crowding of knobs than the X7.

Early sound comparison with old X7 and different strings on each: they’re from the same family! The X10 is fuller, more balanced, deeper bass and rumbles more.

I've tried various sizes and, as someone on this forum noted, the 10 is the Goldilocks. The only problem I see with this particular guitar is that it is green--I thought everyone knew that the red sound the best. Congratulations.

Why the 1 3/4 anyway and not the one it comes with? Just curious.

Beautiful! I like the plain, unadulterated, carbon-weave look better than the woodies, and the transparent emerald green is my favorite color. Enjoy!

Your Emerald X10 is beautiful.
I concur with "SpruceTop", and also prefer the carbon weave appearance over wood veneer.
That Green Carbon Weave is stunning.
Enjoy

Big hands and I like my X7 neck. Besides the X10, 1 3/4" nut is the Emerald standard and the CF standard.

X10 size, 1.75 nut, acoustic saddle -- perfect. This should really be a standard model.

This. If the X10 came stock with a 1.75" nut, acoustic saddle, and normal profile neck (instead of the thin electric type neck) I'd have ordered one already.

I just gotta say that I absolutely love the x10 neck they designed. My old x20 had the classic emerald I neck and I always felt it was too wide.
That said, I've always owned 000 guitars so maybe I'm just used to it.

That’s really nice - I didn’t realize the X10 could be so deep - I guess I’ve mostly seem the skinnier version with the emphasis on the electronics. I’d love to hear how this would sound relative to the X7 and X20.

Congratulations and Enjoy!
