Default Anders Sterner Concert Classical, cutaway, short scale.

Anders Sterner is a somewhat under-the-radar classical builder...although this is changing with his recent deliveries of commissioned guitars to Matthew Greif (L.A. Guitar Quartet) and Krzysztof Meisinger (a.k.a.Chris Meis, Polish conductor and classical guitarist).

Anders will be starting a more standard scale length guitar for me shortly, so this guitar should find it's next home ASAP...!

This guitar is truly unique...a straightforward Classical guitar, but with cutaway...and a super-short scale length for a small-handed classical musician...604mm. Not a typo. 604mm. Approx. 23.75" scale.

I can't say enough about the tone of this guitar...it's nothing less than amazing, despite the very short scale length. Responsive, articulate, full, warm...every adjective that can be used *should* be used for this guitar...truly a concert-quality voice.

This instrument is not really a crossover, as aside from the cutaway, it has a flat-radius fingerboard, and standard classical measurements (aside from the scale length), with 51mm nut and 57mm bridge spacing.

Some other build features:

Swiss Spruce master-grade soundboard
Amazon Rosewood back and sides
4 white MOP fret markers (side of fingerboard)
Alessi tuners, white Mother-of-Pearl buttons
Body all french polish finish, with Royal-Laq on the neck.

This guitar was completed in the Fall of 2014.

This instrument is voiced for standard tuning with medium tension strings, or DADGAD (or other open tunings) with carbon fiber trebles and high-tension bass strings.

The small-handed player may be familiar with Alicia Kopfstein-Penk, who plays on a 580mm scale instrument, and is the author of "The Healthy Guitar", a book dedicated to the concert-player in need of a more ergonomically-friendly guitar. This Sterner instrument is literally a dream-come-true for the right player.

Price: $8,250 (cash, wire-transfer, bank check) plus actual shipping. This includes a custom Karura case. Lower price possible with a less expensive case...please inquire.

Update: Pricing is $7250 with a more-standard hardshell/molded case.

FYI, replacement on the Karura is a bit over $1200.

PLEASE email only, to LP@LarryPattis.com for *any* questions, etc.

Here's a bit of open-tuning/bottleneck-slide fun!

Internationally known concert players are using guitars built by Anders...Matt Greif of the L.A. Guitar Quartet, and Kryztof (a.k.a."Chris) Meizinger (Polish conductor and master classical guitarist)!
