1951 Gibson J45 **SOLD**
Fantastic 1951 Gibson J-45 Acoustic Guitar in fully repaired condition.
This J45 is not a museum piece! It has lived a full life and has the mojo to show it. Ready to keep making great music! NOTE: in the pictures you can see the strings are backwards! I simply reversed the strings so I could try it out left handed. I will include a fresh set of strings. The following repairs were done (as described to me by the previous owner): new neck reset. A poor reset was done decades ago and the fingerboard was cut through to remove the neck. This was an unfortunate approach in the old days, so a new rosewood fingerboard was necessary. A crack in the neck was repaired long ago and is still strong. Several repaired cracks and braces reglued The bridge was completely destroyed and needed replacement. Replaced parts are included. All repairs were completed by Geoff Benge, who is a highly reputable Chicago luthier. Geoff made a modified bridge to cover the damaged area, but I am including a new, era specific bridge in case the new owner would like to change it. The back and sides were refinished at some point long ago, but it was not a high quality job. I think the top is original finish, and that is where most of the sound quality matters. new bone nut and intonated bone saddle a name was inscribed on the front and back of the headstock. (see photos) Ships in a non-original hard case No returns, unless the guitar is not as described. I am happy to provide more photos and answer any ?s

I've never seen a bridge done that way...the way it's carved out...can you post a photo of the front and back of head stock...??thanks...sorry for the trouble.
