Default X7 arrival

A red X7 arrived at my house last week. It is quite lovely. Ergonomically it is wonderful. I don't think I have ever played such a comfortable guitar. The other day I changed the strings and put on Cleartone EQ Lights and was amazed at the tone that came out of the guitar. It is quite amazing! I am sold on these strings for this guitar. I ordered a few more sets to try on my other CF guitars.

Wow, you're on quite the buying tear lately, Barb. You've good some really nice guitars. The X7 gets such consistent, favorable reviews. Good that you've found strings that produce the tone you want. Enjoy!

Great suggestion. I like cleartone strings, no flaking on my electrics. Gotto give the acoustic set a try.

Congrats on the new X7!!

Thanks, Tom & Jimmy.

Jimmy, the Cleartone EQ strngs completely changed the guitar. It gave it a bass that wasn't there before. Very nice.

Hi Barb - congratulations! Of course, we'd love to see some images of your new X7. (The red is sharp!) Two in-demand CF guitars in a short time... a whole bunch of us here "get it."

Glad you found strings that make the experience even better. I picked up some Martin Lifespans to try at the next string change... although I always come back to the Elixirs. The D'Addarios that came on the guitar sound good, but I prefer the feel (and less squeek) of what I'm used to.

Enjoy!

Hi Captain Jim,
I also like the feel of the Elixirs on all of my guitars and I put some on the X7 after I got it. Someone posted on FaceBook about the Cleartone EQs so I tried them. I love the sound they gave the X7 but I have to say I miss the feel of the Elixirs.

Let us know how the Martin LIfespans do on the X7.

Hi Song,
You will really enjoy the X7 when you get it. I am having a great time. It is a great finger style guitar.

Congrats Barb!

I just got an X7 in amber last week (the one that was on Reverb). It's a very nice little guitar to be sure. I haven't gotten to the string experimentation stage. Like Jim I'm accustomed to the feel of Elixir Nanowebs, but I'm interested in hearing what others find works best with this guitar.

Mine either has EXP-16s or EJ-16's. I normally cut off the top of the string box, write the date on it, and throw it in the case, but I failed to do so last time I changed strings on mine.

Big congratulations! The deep, deep red is especially good looking also, IMO.
