Default Fender Showmaster Celtic on Sale at MF 72% Off!!

It's a Fender Showmaster Celtic Custom. A little strange looking, eh? But it has an $899 MSRP and is on sale at Musician's Friend for $249! That's 72% off!

There is also an Esquire version on sale for $299. (66% off)

I have the Showmaster on order and expect it in a few days. I'll post my impressions when I get it.

Go to www.musiciansfriend.com and search for Fender Celtic.

For a second guitar? For alternate tunings? How BAD could it be? Plus they'll ship it to you free and give you 45 days to evaluate it. MOST you can be out is return shipping.

The Showmaster has a basswood body, the Esquire has mahogany.

Hehehehehe... Joe, I'll be surprised if you need the full month and a half. If memory serves, these are satin finished guitars which mar easily. Also, I've seen a number of them that have had the headstock logo flake off.

Fender's doing some really cool stuff right now with guitars designated as Showmasters:

Those three are all set-neck guitars (just like the Celtic).

And then, of course, there's always one for the Tele crowd:

These are a bit pricier than the Celtic but, overall, I think they're much nicer. All are Korean made, and are of surprisingly good quality...

Hope your memory is failing! hehe

With an MSRP of $900 it'd better not have a flaky headstock logo!

Anyway, I'm the guinea pig! Should arrive tomorrow or Wed.

Joe,

I was tempted to get one of these . . . but I just don't play electric at all anymore. They had an acoustic guitar with the same Celtic design, and I got to play one of those at a local shop. Was not impressed . . . and the price tag was a little too high to justify getting it as wall art.

Rarely have I found myself in a situation where what I got something other than what I paid for. If possible, please report, upon the passage of some time, whether this is simply a $300 Korean guitar that happens to bear the name "Fender," as opposed to Cort, Schectar, or Fernandes, or is something that constitutes a special value. THX

Who knows. i'll find out soon!

The guitar *should* retail at $629 BUT it is a close-out.
