Default Lucky 13 pick up choice

I have been researching the lucky 13 as a replacement for my Rainsong hybrid.

I have seen the 13 with both an LR baggs element or a Fishman UST (both powered by a misi pre amp in the guitar). Just wondering which is standard. Any comments about your experience with either set up, or perhaps a comparison of both would be helpful. From what I remember the LR baggs version came with a sound whole control were the Fishman did not

I do have a Fishman Aura so Perhaps there is a good image to match the guitar if I wind up with the UST

Also, one last question, do you know when the guitar was re-voiced? Not apposed to used but I want to make sure i get the one with a more modern sound.

I have a Lucky 13 on order and opted to have a K&K Pure Mini installed, which they will do at the factory for the same upcharge as their standard pick-up ($200).

Mine has the factory installed K&K and it sounds good to me.

I chose not to have a pick up put on my L13 because I couldn't decide when ordering.

Mine came with the Fishman piezo and MiSi. Typical piezo tone... Quacky but acceptable. This guitar's forte is not amplified tone... I rarely plug it in.

I'm pretty sure the newer voicing happened from the 2013 model

Absolutely, Barb1

I had my mind set on a composite acoustics until I had a chance to sample your Lucky 13. It was simply delicious, both in sound and feel. Surprisingly non-composite like

Not sure why this comment made me chuckle... like saying: that mahogany guitar sounds great - surprisingly non-mahogany like. All these CF guitar makers have refined their guitars so that each seems to have their own voice.

Nice that you were able to get hands-on and find a model that that delights your ears, hands, and heart.

It was a surprise by how much I liked the lucky 13. Compared to my Rainsong it was much more "organic" sounding.

My L13 only sounds like a good guitar to me, but YMMV.

Edited to add that I have a 2014 model. I can't speak for any other versions of the model.
