Default Tipping a recording studio

In the not too distant future, I hope to go into a local recording studio to finally have my self-penned songs professionally recorded, no frills, likely just me and my acoustic guitar. I want to do this for me, and also to leave a record of my musical talent for future family. I have no idea what such a project will cost me, but it certainly won't be cheap.

I'm wondering about the appropriateness or not, of tipping the person(s) at the controls to produce the final product. Just pay the fees, or provide a tip? If a tip, how much (%)? Thanks.

Tipping for anything is always a good way to show appreciation. 15/20%

One caveat, Never tip an owner of an establishment. He got the fee.

It would completely depend on the studio. One man operation, no tip. Most often, even in a studio with a couple of folks - who would you tip? The tracking engineer? The mixing engineer (who won't do his work until you're long gone)?

It's not typical to tip studios or engineers. They certainly won't expect it.

If you've got money to burn, spend it on getting a better production. Are you getting your tracks mastered?
