Newtone double wound PB
These strings are just pure bliss on my L13, straight from the go and after a couple of hours playing.
I love the Thomastik Infeld Plectrums too, but I find their gauges strange and I prefer a tension that is in between their sets. The tension of these double would 12-52 is just perfect for finger picking. The sound rich, the bass deep, the highs mellow, the playability great (round core), the tension perfect, the feel smooth. As an added bonus these strings are made in my home country, I think this is the end of the line for me folks. I'm convinced.

Thanks for posting Sir. I've been waiting to hear about your experience with the Newtones. I think I will at least try them . I'm very happy with the Retros on my Shorty but the Newtones are at least reasonably priced, around the cost of Elixirs. Aren't they like nearly half the cost of the TI Spectrums?

They are indeed cheaper. For me in Europe Newtone strings are the price of a normal set of strings. Elixirs are much more expensive and so are Thomastik Infeld. But as TI and Newtone are European they are both cheaper for me than you for folks over the Atlantic.
