Hi
I have to decide between two guitars - a TW40 SD VS E, and a TW60 SC VS E. Besides the shapes, the only difference between these guitars are the pickups. the one has a Fishman Presys + and the other a Fishman Sonitone. I would like to know which one would produce truer tone? I play in a full band, so I want the one which will bring out the best mid range in the guitar? ![]() |

I've only used the Sonitone and I was underwhelmed. You may be better off with a K&K. Those aren't my favorite, but for good usable sound on a budget it's hard to find something better.

Piezo element is the same (Sonicore).
With Presys preamp, you get more tone shaping possibilities, built-in tuner and phase switch, so I would choose this one. With Sonitone, you get only volume and tone adjustments but there is no large hole in back of the guitar (sometimes it is an advantage).

Have you considered the Fishman Marrick infinity. Quite similar to the Sonitone but with more dynamic range. I have one in my Yamaha LJ16 it sounds fantastic also has a tone and volume dails.
