I prefer the sound of the OM-28. Crisper, a bit brighter, with slightly better note separation with the OM-28, which is a bit more pleasing to my ear.

Here are 2 2016 D-28 guitars back to back, without being re-strung. There is a high probability that one set of strings is slightly older than the other.



Here are the same 2 guitars, recorded immediately after being strung with brand new sets of Martin MSP7200 strings.



In both cases, the audio was recorded with a Rode NTG-2 direct to disk with no processing, effects or EQ. Same guitars, same room, same pick, same playing style. What are you hearing?

Which do you prefer?

The OM-28 sounds better to me. It sounds clear and the notes sound more defined and distinct. The CEO-7 sounds like it's choked and muddy.
