Default New Convert Update

I recently let a friend take my Rainsong home with him for a week.
2 days after I pryed it from his hands, he ordered a New CO-WS1000N2.

2 days after recieving it, he sends me a text. "I can't keep this guitar" I asked why? His response, "I can't have a guitar that sounds better than my Huss & Dalton" "" plus, it stays in tune. "" """I can't believe I'm just now discovering these"""
I said to him. Enjoy them all. They all have their own voice.

BTW
Merry Christmas Everyone

Every acoustic guitarist, and I mean every acoustic guitarist, needs to discover the wonderful qualities of carbon guitars and then buy one. There is a place for a carbon guitar in every player's stable!

I have tuned my Rainsong in Phoenix, driven to San Diego, and it's still in tune.

Took my Rainsong camping. On a cold night close to the fire she was warm to the touch ... and stayed tuned.

Left south Texas (humid) last week, traveling in our motorhome. My RainSong Shorty is now with us in the Phoenix area. In tune and happy. It takes me a bit longer to adjust to the dry climate.

Looks like it's turning into a "tuned" thread...my Shorty sits in our sun room, temps range from 56 - 86 degrees and humidity is around 10% most of the time. It could care less. Stays in tune and is very handy to take outside and play on the deck when I can handle the temps and humidity. I gotta admit that I prefer the tone of most of my wood guitars, but they would be in pieces if subjected to the same "abuse"...they all have their place and purpose.

Back to the original post. Many have reported a similar experience. Players have a lot of preconceived idea about CF guitars and ukes for that matter. While they may still prefer wood, they generally have a greater appreciation for CF. When one considers the advantages of CF such as stability and tolerance for temp and humidity that can win many to owning one.

Here in South Carolina the weather has been unseasonably warm and humid. My Santa Cruz OM/PW and Larrivee 03 all sound like they have a sock stuffed in the sound hole. My humble CA Performance Legacy Dread doesn't notice the humidity. It sings with the best of them and plays in tune. I'm sold on carbon fiber no matter what the brand!

Nice to hear from a fellow South Carolinian. Yes, the weather here has been humid, especially for me since I live on a lake. All my wooden guitars have to be tuned when I take them out to play but my Rainsong never goes out of tune.

I first bought a Rainsong WS-1000 when living in Alaska. I just got tired of adding 8-10 gallons of water to the humidifier every day trying to maintain 20-25% RH. Plus damp sponges in the case of every guitar too. As a secondary benefit, CF stays in tune much better around the campfire or going indoors and outdoors than any other guitar I own.

Now I live in Idaho and humidity is much less of an issue, but still not something to ignore completely. I still love the CF guitars we have, and it is unlikely I will ever buy another wood guitar at this point. I might pick up a Lucky 13 or something similar.

I don't want to throw him in the deep end quite yet. I've found this place to be dangerous and prone to give GAS. There is quite an undertow as well.

but soon

I've kept my Smokey in standard tuning since I've had it day one. Have not needed to tune it once!
