Default Knox sitka/mesquite jumbo

I've been posting here for a while, but this is my first thread. I've just finished this one, and I'd thought I'd share some photos.

Now for some construction photos. Here's some mockups I considered for the back.

edit: some photos deleted

And here's the installed preamp from the inside.

Here's a few more shots of the preamp. It's the MIMF preamp, a circuit designed by Vlad Ardlean. I designed and etched the circuit board, and soldered all the components by hand.

The circuit board is 1 1/2"x2", and you can see the SMT components are tiny!

Gluing on the top...

Fitting the neck...

Another shot...

I didn't get any photos of the neck getting cut out and glued up, that's all done in the photo above.

Inside the box, before it's closed.

As you can see by the date on the top, I've been working on this one for a while...

With the back assembled and glued on...

Beginning the fretboard inlay...

I don't have any other photos of the fretboard inlay, this project was pre-empted by several others and the photo-documentation suffered.
Ready for final finish...

No questions or comments?
I guess I should do better work, and take better pictures.

Looking good, Rodger! Really like how the back turned out, and I can't imagine the patience it must take for all that inlay work. Nice work!

Thanks, the inlay does take some time.
I'm surprised that the handmade preamp didn't generate any interest. It is out of date now, since SBTs have replaced USTs as the preferred system, and the preamp is designed for USTs that require a higher input impedance. It was state or the art when it was designed, but there have been a lot of advancements in acoustic amplification in the last 10 or 12 years.
