Default New Parlor from Rainsong

I've had this beauty for about a week and I'm loving it! I've been playing a lot of nylon string guitar lately... I really enjoy the sound and it's a welcome change when your fingers are sore from playing your steel strings too much. I also really love Rainsong's new Marine Burst finish! Like most burst finishes, this one is difficult to capture with a camera. The fade is a lot more subtle to the naked eye. Great comments from everyone who has seen this finish in person. The Rainsong plays and sounds beautifully and the CF durability gives me the ability to play outside when the weather otherwise dictates that fine guitars stay indoors. (Bah!) This one is also equipped with electronics and strap buttons so it's set up for live use, too. I haven't plugged it into my effects chain yet but that's coming soon.

Dear JR,
Congratulations on acquiring the Rainsong Nylon Parlor. I love my Rainsong Steel Sstring P12 and have been wondering what the nylon version sounds like. Would it be possible for you to record a sound sample of your parlor and post it here?
Best,
Barb

Nice! I played the nylon parlor prototype at Ted's and almost went for it, but the steel string P12 was a calling.

Congrats JR!

What made you decide to go with the 12 fret versus the 14?

Thanks, everyone! I like the 12-fret neck personally and it's a couple inches shorter than the 14-fret making it a bit more compact. I have a P12 steel string that I play quite a bit and wanted a similar feel with this one.

Barb1, I will try to put something together so you can hear/see this in action.

Here's a little better shot of the finish...

Very nice JR, congratulations. I have a Rainsong WS-1000 but I really wanted a smaller body CF... I can't wait to A/B with an RS Parlor, a Shorty, and some others... LA Guitar, here I come (April).

CF means living with less stress... no more fear of environmental effects on wood... it is very liberating to have one. I feel fortunate to have both a CF and a couple of wood guitars.

I just purchased a Rainsong marine-burst, Parlor guitar from MacNichol. The review by Mr. Rogers helped lead me to the purchase--I figured he's had a chance to play every Parlor ever made and if he says it's good, it's good. I've had many CF nylon string guitars and really look forward to this latest addition.
