Nice matched set.

I don't have too many guitar regrets. but I should have grabbed a 12-string WS-3000 while they were still making them, to go with the WS-1000 we have. On the other hand, I can probably get by with my Taylor 354 LTD (maple body) 12-er. I have to humidify it, but otherwise....

The WS3000 was rather hard to come by. Went to RainSong's website/Dealers page and emailed almost all of the USA/Canada stores (about 50 emails?), got back maybe 15 replies but no hits. Meanwhile, I kept using Google to search and up came a webpage, had a New WS3000 posted. It turned out to be a current posting and so, the rest is history. I never did come across a used WS3000

I think the WS3000 is and will continue to be a highly sought after guitar, especially when (not if) 12 strings come back into vogue. Super duper low action, excellent tone, sounds beautiful when amplified , low profile N1 neck and no humidity/temps to concern one's self with. The WS3000 plays about as easy as the WS1000N1 though just a tad less due to the double strings. IMO the WS3000 just might have the lowest action (without any fret buzz) of any 12 string ever made. though I have no way to confirm this as being so. I have a Taylor 555 and a 654ce and they play nice, but since getting the WS3000 I don't play the Taylor's anymore especially since I leave both of these composites out 24/7 on guitar stands just arms length away

I wonder if Rainsong has backed itself into a truss rod corner, in that the perception is if a truss rod is good for a 6 certainly you would want it for a 12? You can argue its not necessary all you want, I have a 12 without a truss rod, but perception is a tuff thing. To build a new neck for a low volume guitar just is hard to justify.

I think 12ers are back in style. At least with me. Congrats on getting the matching guitars. I bet you will have a great time with them.

Thank you for saying that

I don't know about such things (technically speaking), I just know the N1 necks are nice and slim. I have both WS models detuned one whole note and factory gauge Elixir's installed (.012 on 6'er, .010 on 12'er) and there's no fret buzz.

And so, I personally fail to see why RainSong decided to fatten the neck (N2) to add a truss rod. My guess is, the relief a truss provides will allow the lowest possible action? Both of mine are factory height action and I have no good reason to make it any lower.

When I was on the hunt for the WS3000 a dealer said the reason there are no more new WS3000's is, the molds wore out and they're expensive to replace. Not sure if this is so, but that's what was said

When I went on a 2 week hunt for a WS3000 I never came across a used WS3000, not a one. The one I have, it's serial is 5 digits so there has to be quite a few of them out there but it seems no one wants to part with theirs at the moment
