Default when will it arrive?

Journey has been saying "pretty soon" for well over a year now. I think this time, they actually are close. I get the impression that they have had one unexpected hassle after another in the actual production. Maybe Ted will chime in - he should have the latest.

On the carbon forum they said they finally got through some issues with the CF fret board and should start assembling this next week. Sounds like they are getting in the ballpark of having some availability soon....looking forward to the Road trip guitar.

We are suposedly very close to the road show model coming. But the length of time and the seeming start, stop of this carbon roll out shows the difficulty of carbon fiber production vs wood. The woods been with us for a while. The second test will be the sound. I think carbon is as much of an art as wood when it comes to getting to the finish line. It should be interesting.

I communicated with Rob yesterday at which time I was told any week now, but with a brand new design like this we never know. What do know is that Rob wont release this guitar till he feels it's the best they can build.

I'm also signed up for the MacNichol Road Trip. I have a Cargo, which is great, except I don't care for the very short scale. I also like the idea that I would never have to gate check this (I have had to gate check my Cargo once).

Default Journey CF delays

I keep thinking about a large company who built a new factory, after doing the controlled research on the product and were convinced that they had a winner. They managed to convince the public that they wanted it too. Then they were beset by manufacturing difficulties and could not supply the demand they'd created. By the time they were up to speed, no one wanted it any longer.

I keep thinking of this in conjunction with Journey's carbon fiber model and wondering.... The introduction of Journeys carbon fiber model has been "almost ready" for over a year now. I wish them the best and know their wood models have been well-received. But the carbon fiber model is a bird of another feather and may sound and play entirely differently. I hope we get to find this out in person.

I seriously doubt anyone will care how long it took to get these guitars in stores once they are available. As long as they sound good and are up to the standards of the wood models they will be well received.

Default Jouney Overhead

Word is that it is really going to come about and they will soon be making their way into stores. An eBay stored advertised them for sale a couple of weeks ago. Another dealer told me that they didn't actually have what they were advertising. When I wrote to them, I got no reply. I have since noticed that they were now absent from eBay.

On the Macnichol.com thread talking about the RT, Journey posted the following on June 26:

"Fellow guitarists, I've just approved the first off-the-line guitar. I'm hoping to have a guitar to you within 2 weeks. I'll post a few more recordings later this week as well. Keep up with the progress here:
