Default My First CF Guitar! Rainsong WS3000 12-String

As a guitar player, it's sometimes not very clear where you'll be even a year from now. I am always open-minded when it comes to innovative ideas. I own Parker and Babicz acoustics. So what drew me to CF guitars? It certainly wasn't the price. I loved the clarity that I heard. When I record, I am more concerned about getting the fundamental right.

I made an adjustment to the 3rd and 4th string courses. Usually on the bass strings, the octave string is first, then the normal bass string. With fingerpicking I rarely use my thumb on the 3rd string, so I reversed them, putting the octave on the bottom. I also did the same to the 4th string because the octave string was ringing out too much. Part of the cause is that I am using bare fingers, but the changes work.

I think that if the body wasn't so thick (5 inches), the sound would be less loud and bass-oriented and suit my style better, but what saves the day are the octave strings. Part of my strategy here is to make sure that I keep down the gauge of the bass strings. So following their recommendation would be about right. Rainsong recommends:

Elixir #11152 12 String Light Acoustic Guitar Strings
.010 / .010 / .014 / .014 / .023 / .009
.030 / .012 / .039 / .018 / .047 / .027

I don't have an actual pic of the guitar yet, but here is something to give you an idea:

So now I am part of the CF ranks!

Cheers!

Wow, a 12-string CF! Something tells me those two go together really well.

I really do thing carbon guitar make great 12 strings cause wood produces too many overtones and you get muddy. The clarity of carbon really helps here. Congrates!
