Default CA Bluegrass Performer, what type pickup?

I just bought a used guitar, a Composite Acoustics model that they called "Bluegrass Performer." I have an OX Raw and like it but wanted a dread, as well. Sure hope I like the dread, it appears to be in great condition. Is there any particular pickup system that people like for these carbon guitars? I play strumming style but also fingerstyle. My OX Raw has a pickup in it, L R Baggs Element.

If you like the acoustic sound of your guitar, I would go with the new Baggs Lyric. It's simple to install and sounds very acoustic and like a microphone. If you want to alter or enhance the sound you might consider a UST with Fishman Aura pedal.

How will you be using the guitar when you're playing plugged in? Loud rock band, intimate venue (like coffee shops), medium size, moderate volume acoustic gigs, etc.? So much depends on how you plan to use it.

Personally, while I'm intrigued by the Lyric, I don't think it would work very well for me. I make too much contact with the body while playing to have it work well. USTs don't pick any of that up; a mic like the lyric would pick it all up.

Yes, it came with B Band but put the Lyric in it, and really like it. Would love to know what Alistair thinks of the Lyric.

I talked with Tom and he just told Alistair to put it in. I emailed Alistair about it when I put mine in, and he said that he had one coming to test. Martin is very positive on it and he should know. I liked the sound of the B Band but I found its pressure sensitivity to a bit of a pain. The different pressures of the necks made electronic balancing a must. i changed bridges and lowered the six side slightly and I got a louder low E string cause by break angle pressure differences I believe. I could correct it but the Lyric just balanced everything so well, so naturally, I thought it was quite amazing system for this guitar. But I am just a amateur, having fun. Steve
