Pickup comparison on Rainsong LA2A-LE
Here's an excellent video from our friend Jim Kozel comparing the K&K Pure Mini to the LR Baggs Lyric on one of our custom Rainsong LA2A-LE's.

Hands down, the Lyric wins. Incredibly transparent sound. I thought the K&K sounded tinny, horribly tinny.
Ted, thanks for posting. Holy smokes, the Lyric is a game changer!

You are absolutely right, plus the fact it installs in minutes with foam tape. Absolute game changer. I just wish my Rainsongs didn't have barndoors. As good as it sounds here with a little EQ it sounds even better. It is so much like my acoustic sound I don't think my amp is on, I sometimes have to turn the volume down in the guitar just to verify it. That's nuts.

Through my speakers, the K & K sounded OK. The Lyric sounded way too bright at the 2/3 setting, but fine at the other settings. To me, the best sound was the last one, with the mic.
I would like to compliment the player, Jim. His playing in the demo was enjoyable to listen to. I guess I just like that style. Tony |
