"RainSong is an acoustic guitar manufacturer currently based in Woodinville, Washington, and originally based in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. The company makes high-end carbon fiber (graphite) bodied acoustics and acoustic electrics, with past models including nylon string guitars, 12-string guitars, and a jazz archtop."

"The company was formed in the 1990s by Dr. John Decker a aeronautical engineer with all early models designed in cooperation with luthier Lorenzo Pimentel. The company moved production to Washington from Hawaii in 2001".

Rainsongs are not only great guitars, but they're the only guitar purchase I've ever made that was followed by a thank-you note.....

They really broke the new ground and made CF acceptable with a good product. Conservative, high quality , I think they are still the company to beat. What I mean is I tend to compare CF guitars to Rainsong. I think they have been a big influence on all the builders.

No question, Rainsong is setting the bar high. I think if Leviora could come in at a better price point, they could be very competitive with Rainsong.

I haven't played the one he has in stock now but have played the last one and it's amazing! Much warmer than the WS version and the size makes it easy to pack.

Ok, dumb question; why do they call them 12 frets when they have more than 12 frets?

They are called 12 fretters based on where the neck joins the body. On a 12 fret guitar the neck joins the body at the 12th fret. On a rainsong, this shifts the bridge back more into the center of the soundboard.

Joined at the body at the 12th fret, most modern guitars join at the 14th. The 12 positions the bridge more in a sweet spot on the soundboard but tuffer access to the highest frets.

... which is largely resolved by use of a more modern cutaway design.
