Default Emerald X07-OS and medium strings?

I just received my X07-OS B-spec and am very impressed. I usually play with PB mediums and am curious if any other X07-OS owners have experimented with medium gauges and what you discovered?

Thanks,
Dave

Better with mediums IMO, but not as shocking an upgrade as mediums on a Cargo. Jon

Much more of a difference because of the much shorter scale on the Cargo than on the X7OS, but still a bit more volume as well.

Hi Dave

I just put a set of Elixir mediums on my X7 OS two days ago. Big difference over the lights. More volume, not as "jangley".

This guitar is growing on me.

Default Emerald X07-OS and medium strings...Playability?

OK, I see from the comments that the medium gauge strings made a significant difference in sound.

For the guitars I am playing, I have preferred the lesser tension of light gauge for easier playability.

I am also planning on getting an X7-OS.

How significantly did the increase in tension affect the playability?

Mike

Fwiw, mediums on a 24" scale is very close to lights on a 25.5" scale in terms of tension. On my Larrivee Parlor, I prefer mediums (actually, bluegrass gauge) and find lights too floppy.
