Acoustic Recording - Red Wind - William Eaton / Nakai
If anyone here is into Native American music, or just really likes great acoustic guitar playing in all sorts of alternate tunings, you should check out this CD: http://www.canyonrecords.com/cr7017.htm
I've been a big fan of William Eaton for a long time. Not only is he one of the most creative acoustic guitarists out there, he builds his own instruments! He's quite an awesome luthier, as he builds acoustic guitars with built-in harps, etc. Really interesting stuff. J.R. |

Had to dig this post up and say.... This is an AWESOME CD! I was listening to it again tonight.
Here's my review from Amazon.com: "One of the best recordings from this trio, this CD sees them venturing into more melodic and listener-friendly territory than before. Nakai's trademark soulful and expressive playing of the Native American flute blends perfectly with Eaton's creative use of the acoustic guitar and other like-instruments (that he builds himself). Driving the songs with rhythmically mesmerizing and perfectly matched beats, Clipman uses an array of percussion instruments to weave an atmosphere that seems to pull the listener into the music. This CD differs from their older releases in that the songs never seem to go off on a musical tangent. The trio sticks to a more modern formula while still creating their trademark "desert" atmosphere. Highly recommended by this listener!!"
