New Composite Acoustics from peavey
hello. i have been looking for a new Composite Acoustics Gx model. i found a dealer who says he has a newer GX from peavey. i am kind of confused because the one the dealer has is equipped with a fishman pickup and all the videos i have seen on the new peavey CA guitars have the lr baggs i mix. so is the GX from the dealer i have been talking to actually a peavey made CA guitar? thanks for your comments.

Not sure, my 09' GX has LR Baggs Element which is just ok. I know Peevey bought what was left of CA back in the summer of 2010 but I have no idea what pickups they are using because at this point CA is all but dead in the water. Maybe call Peevey and see what info they have to offer.

Peavey is doing right now a huge effort to get the company working again at full potential. expect that after NAMM (next week) guitar will be present again in the market. they will even re-release two more models having 5 in the market for this year. Peavey CA's have l.r.baggs or fishmann Aura pickups. if it is not a Aura system, it could be an old model i own one Peavey GX guitar and it is simply amazing! try calling them

I own one as well, built by the original factory, is yours and older one or one built by Peavey?

From the CA website:
Available with the FishmanŽ Prefix Plus T or Fishman AuraŽ pickup/preamp systems So, it looks like they're moving away from LR Baggs pickups. |
