Oh wow,
The guitar and how Dustin plays it sounds „harpy and etherical“ - for lack of a better description..
..and the composition has a nice flow and melody me thinks..
Great combination of nature, luthier, tool and gardener

Default Brazilian Rosewood

It has been awhile since I built a BRW guitar like I did for Dustin. There is a quality of sound to BRW that is hard to match with other tonewoods. The naysayers will say what they will but I think most experienced luthiers will agree that all is well in the world when there is the smell for Brazilian Rosewood in the shop!

It's more than just luthiers that love BRW. I don't think it's a coincidence that one of the most viewed threads I've done was mostly about a couple of BRW guitars I was building:
https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=373187

I'm currently working on my 100th guitar which has it's own thread. Next up for guitars to go to Woodstock will be, as you might guess a Brazilian Rosewood guitar.

Wow, that first coat took your great work and made it even greater!! Can't wait to see more! Why no, I'm not suddenly very impatient at all.

This is absolutely splendid.

I keep trying to come up with a word other than “wow”, but I can’t.

So — wow!

Default Wood Shopping

I took a drive and did some wood shopping this morning. I was out of long Macassar Ebony boards to use for binding and managed to take care of that.
The star of the day though is this Snakewood Log:

It is 7 1/2" to 6" in diameter and comes in at just under 80lbs. Most importantly it has great figure:

I now have a good stash of Snakewood fretboards, binding, etc.
