Default Irish Bouzouki Coated Strings. Anything out there?

I am partial to Elixir phosphor bronze coated strings on my guitars. My Irish Bouzouki, though, uses non-coated (loop ends). Are there any coated strings out there with loop ends for the I.B.? If so, I'd like to give them a try, for sure.

Wyre's makes a set, however, it's pretty easy to convert ball-end strings to loop-end. Have you tried just using a pair of pliers to crush the ball?

Hi Phil. Nope. I have not tried that but I am willing to try. I'll check out the Wyre's you suggest. Thanks eh!

Best instructions I've seen, Daniel, for removing the balls from the strings is on Frank Ford's site: http://www.frets.com/FretsPages/Musi...ops/loops.html
