I’ve used a Feather brand safety razor and Feather blades for a few decades. I like the close shaves I get. The cartridges are so wasteful with all the plastic packaging and the double edge blades are a small fraction of the cost of cartridges. It does bother me that most blade makers package them in plastic dispensers but they contain very little plastic compared Tom the cartridges and they’re recyclable which the cartridges are not.

the old guy's aged a lot, but the 'tache is still here - I don't "style" it at all, this is just how it grows :

I had to start shaving when I was still in school about aged 16. In the end I got tired of doing it and grew a beard when i was 18 - and , I think, that was why I was expelled.

The bitter irony was that I'd just perfected the method of having a well groomed sight white fuzz beard was shortly followed by my cancer treatment which burned away all my beard hairs on the left hand side, so I can't have a full beard now.

The below are my razors:

The first is my "Rolls Razor" Imperial No.2 kit which Nanny Jane and I saw in a bric-a-brac (not quite antique) shop, but didn't buy - she drove all the way back the next day to buy it for me.

I've never used it, I use the Bic razor shown now - I need only shave my right hand side and neck.

I started with safety razors, got a Norelco as a Christmas gift in my teens, and then disposables were invented. I use all three now. Safety when I want it clean and close. Electric when in a hurry, and disposable for a quick touch up in the shower. One thing about safety razors is they will rust if you dont take care of them. Soap in a mug. I've tried various cartridge razors and see no advantage, other than for head shaving where you cant see around your head enough to use a safety razor. I would forget which brand/type I had and buy the wrong refills.

We had a great thread in here a few years back with this topic. Wish I could find it!

Is this the one you’re thinking of?

https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...ighlight=Shave

I used the Forum Search, limited it to Open Mic, with the keyword ‘shave’ - came up with 8 pages worth

My modest collection is all stuffed in our bathroom closet right now, apart from what I use regularly. I'm toying with a custom shelf layout...
