Default NGD - Webber OM

Hi All,

I just traded my Baranik JX for a Bourgeois JOMC. I asked for something to sweeten the deal and even up the trade, and the other guy offerred to through in a Webber OM. I thought this was more than fair so I accepted. Over the past few days I looked around on here about Webber guitars and found almost universal praise for them. MAN were they right! This thing is awesome!

It's a 2009 OM with Sitka over Sapele. Pretty simple cosmetically, but everything in the right place, done properly with good quality materials. All the detailing is done in wood - a lovely touch!

The sound, the SOUND. Wow! I was hoping for something on par with a martin OM-18 that I could take to lessons with me and let my kids play on without worrying, but this is much more. It's super responsive to bare fingers, but takes a pick just fine. Super balanced all over the neck on all strings, nice balance from bass to treble - a really really great all rounder!

Until now I've been using a well used Lowden S12 for outside and lesson duty, but I think it just got showed up. Anyone wanna buy a Lowden ?

It's a shame that David Webber isn't building any more - I think he had a great thing going!

I got a Webber 00 14-fret two weeks ago. Sitka over figured mahogany sunburst. Consistent with your experience, the sound of this thing blows me away.

The information that I have from a long time local dealer is that David has taken down his website, and is still building, but on a much reduced basis.

Lots of Webber love here! But, how you liking that JOMC? I think the Bourgeois JOMC is about the most versatile guitar out there...enjoy...

There should be an official ban on NGD threads without pics

Congrats!

Congrats on both guitars.

Huge Webber fan. Still have my 1995 Cedar/EIR OM and play it regularly. It's about as good as they get.

Another Webber fan. His guitars are terrific, and are bargain priced.

Webber makes a great sounding, exceedingly balanced guitar.
Kind of like a good Larivee.

Super strum guitar with a huge sweet spot for finding different timbres.
I kind of wish I had mine back.

Only so much time. Only so many guitars......

Let us know how the Maine guitar goes.

Congratulations on the (2) new babies. Yes, David built a very nice guitar. Clear, clean, a bit dry with great separation. Left to his own devices his guitars have a very clean, spare zen-elegant aesthetic. Had he gone yet to the almost invisible "W" inlaid in the headstock in wood? His guitars was a bit underappreciated as he kept his prices lower than what they should have commanded given the quality, and did not marketing. He was uninterested in growing beyond himself, an assistant, and "Igor" the CNC machine if doing so meant cutting into his skiing, biking and mountain climbing time.

Nice score. Play it in god health.
