As I noted in this thread the other day......
http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=235900 thanks to Tim and Mary for going above and beyond the call of duty to get this rolling again. Lance sent the top a few days back and Tim has "dug in" Here is the Madagascar Rosewood rosette taking shape.... top routed and ready.... then put under the vacuum press to endsure a tight fit... ready to inlay the green abalone.... Oh man, someone spilled glue all over it!!! not to worry....it's beautiful!!! Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Actually, it will make a quick stop back my way to get bound before it heads out to Rob. I have everything bent and ready to go.

Brock, I got the top braced today and plan to voice it tomorrow afternoon. Then the top will go on to close the box and it will be ready for a trip to Columbus early next week.

Oh boy....have I got some good stuff to report today!!
Tim has finished voicing the top and the box is now closed. He just told me the top is very lively on this one, and he has high expectactions (and I've got chills thinking about it!!) Here his is giving the top one last tap session.... The Koa box sitting, waiting patiently for an Italian to show up... Mary sanding the transverse brace... Tim applying the glue to join the top.... getting everything in place for the go bars.... pressure, contact.....it's now a BOX!!! Tim routing the excess spruce from around the top.... cleaning up the top.... Uploaded with ImageShack.us applying sealer.... Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Beautiful green abalone and Madagascar rosette......
Inscriptions under the top.... Uploaded with ImageShack.us I'm just beside myself......doesn't seem like that long ago that I hopped off the stairmaster on a Sunday and saw my name on a "Tweet" (the ONLY time that will happen, by the way) that I had won this contest. I'll say it a hundred times, but many, many thanks to the five people who are doing this wonderful thing for me!! *

What an exciting collaboration - great people melding together their considerable talents to create something very special! I know it's not my guitar, but it is my friend's, and that makes me nearly as excited as if it were my own.
