Waaaaaaaaaay more.
Jeff Elliot has a closed list and the prices asked for his guitars these days are excruciating.

Two options here:

A: Go to a store and buy a sole luthier guitar off the shelf. Lots of choice in the USA but GSI is the obvious...but you will pay a hefty premium. You do get to take it home though.

B; Commission a luthier. There is a TON of choice at 10K.

As others have said above, you really need to be on DELCAMP.

I think my choice in the USA would be Richard Reynoso, but direct and not from a dealer. David Daily makes a great guitar for well under 10K but may be getting to the end of his career.

Cheers,
Steve

Make part of the gift a plane ticket to Guitar Salon International, where he or she can pick out the guitar of their dreams

You've got that right Todd. Quite the inventory they have over there.
I'm surprised there aren't many more places like that around the country. It seems like all searches lead there when you're looking for something classical.

Thanks Todd. Both of those were new to me. I have to adjust my search engine!

The Brunes are very knowledgeable and skilled, and I've had nice dealings with them.

I'd have to adjust my will power setting if I visited any of them!
