Default Obbligato Saddles at MacNichol Guitars

Check this discussion out, very interesting and it has definitely peaked my interest to install one on my Shorty.

Here is an interesting article that is relevant:

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but does Rainsong use the same Tusq saddle that Taylor does?

They use the PQ-9200-C0 in all of their guitars, according to Graphtech. Jon

Thanks. From what I can gather, it seems it is the same saddle part number that Taylor uses.

Some exciting updates on the Obbligato saddle on the MacNichol forum.

The game has now changed...

We should have some reports soon. You have to send your saddle I to Obbligato so that they can shape it the same. So say tuned. And MacNichol will be doing before and after videos.

I will be interested to see if we can hear a difference. Looks like a lot of thought went in to this saddle but at a $100 plus it will be a tough sell. Perhaps I'll contact them to see if they will send me one so I can do some a/b comparisons.

Ted, from some early reports, the improvements are significant. One of the guys was a tester and worked with Jim closely and has installed them on his guitar and ukes and said he will NEVER go back to another saddle.

INCREDIBLE customer service and I know that Jim from Obbligato will really work with you on this.

MacNichol just installed an Obbligato saddle on a Composite Acoustic Legacy, and all noticed an improvement in clarity and tone.

Can't wait for them to try this saddle on other models!

Need some A/ B comparisons for that money. Tuff sell but not impossible if it works.

What's it made of?

It looks like a banjo saddle - maple with ebony inlays was one common format.
