I'm not sure about the tuners, the strings, or the electronics...

I think keeping the electronics dry would be the only concern.

Guitar will be fine, just don't leave the cake out.

I don't advocate playing any guitars in the rain.

You can play it on a boat,
You can play it with a goat,
You could play it in the rain,
You could play it on a train.

LOL!

I think it'd be one of those things that you could do, but I wouldn't feel right about it. To me it would be like buying a brand new Chevy Tahoe 4X4 for $40K and then taking it out on some "muddin' trails." It could probably handle it, but I just wouldn't feel right doing it.

BTW, my parents (in 1979) had their 1500 sq. ft. house (w/full basement) BUILT on 4 acres of the most beautiful land in the county for LESS than the base price of a 2008 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid.

I've played my Rainsong in light rain and mist to no ill effect. Don't know if I'd want to get out in a heavy rain whether I was playing guitar or not.

Regarding graphite guitars, to paraphrase the good doctor:

you can play them in the rain
you can play them on a train
you can play them in a house
you can play them with a mouse
you can play them on a boat
you can play them with a goat
you can play them here or there
you can play them anywhere

The real question is "can you play them underwater"? Someone has got to try that ....not me, someone.

I would guess you could, but why would you want to play a guitar in the rain?
