Default Classic Guitar with 1 3/4" nut

Hey guys, was talking with a friend that's looking for a classic/nylon?string guitar with a small nut/neck. He said he knows of a small M&P shop that gets them in from Europe and they are a favorite with mariotchy [sp??] players. Thought if anybody knows of any available online or dealers/distributors.
Thx in advance.

I know Cordoba has their C3M Cadete model that is a smaller all the way around guitar. I believe it is a 3/4 size guitar, and has a 1.8" (just a hair over 1 3/4") nut width.

I also believe that Ibanez makes one as well as Fender with narrow nut widths, but they will be electric/acoustic nylon strung.

Cordoba has a Fusion series with 1 3/4" necks. Ted at LA Guitar Sales (Tarpman, here on AGF) has them. Not sure if that's the brand you want, but these have the neck width you're looking for.

IIRC, the Fusion series has 1 7/8" nut widths - more of a crossover.

Most 3/4 size classical guitars have a 13/4" width neck so that could be an option.

I would ask if he's ever played one? Bear in mind that classical string's gauges are inherently thicker, so playing a 1 3/4 nut with nylon strings is going to feel like there's less room than a 1 5/8 neck. It would be very cramped for someone with adult sized hands.....these smaller guitars are meant for children.

Default Crossover...

I would suggest to go with a crossover sized neck (like Godin). As has been pointed out, nylon strings are thicker and it will probably feel cramped playing on a 1 3/4" with nylon. And BTW, it's "mariachi"
