I have tried 3 sets of the Hard Tension and the only problem that I've had was last time when I tightened my E string w/ three loops at the tailpiece instead of four. It snapped out as I was tuning it up to pitch. I just unraveled and did four loops. Even though it sort or kinked/scratched the string in the "ponticello" region, the string sounded fine and seemed as toneful as before. Keep in mind, as I've had almost back to back sets of gigs I think the longest I had the strings on was about 2-3 weeks. I'm keeping the current set on for a while as I have nothing lined up for just a little bit. I think I've kept on Dynacores for months at a time in the past, and I really like them. I think they have a nice tone that is a little on the bright side, but sings really well with a flesh attack. However, once you get hooked on the the La Bella Argento basses it's sort of hard to really use anything else . . . that is, until D'Addario decides to invest in the A&R and QC in building quality pure silver strings. |

I finally put them on a week ago Recorded a couple of pieces yesterday, hope will do more soon...Here is the video:
This transcription sounds best in natural acoustics, but I have none in my room, so I had to add quite a bit of reverb, if you want to hear "clear" recording without reverb I can upload it to soundcloud, just let me know. |

Four months now and I still have the free set on. They still sound good. Basses are starting to wear from the frets in a few spots but play fine.
I'm probably going to leave them on for a few more gigs and have to change them because of the bass strings, but that type of wear is normal. |

This Beta-testing about Carbon Strings is perfect: could anyone using/testing these Carbon strings do this little test for me?
If you were to "bend the string" (yup, like on an electric guitar) in order to reach a specific note (say +2 half-tone, or 1 full-tone), which string would need the wider bend: - a regular string (silverplated EXP45 for instance) - or a Carbon String? (this is relative to my quest stated here http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=413868) Thanks |

I've used my free set and then bought two more sets.
I like these strings a lot. They last forever and sound a bit brighter but not too bright. They are reasonably priced. I, also, suffered from a first string slipping off the bridge, leaving a nasty welt in the soundboard :-( |
