Sorry, that has not been my experience. In general, frets lift on the ends because the slots are too wide, or because they have been hammered too much.
I have wasted too much time trying to accommodate careless guitar owners. The good thing is that is about to change, because in the future I don't intend to repair any guitars made after 1945. That takes care of the riffraff.

Ive had guitars with ebony bound ebony board that looked great. I think thats the best way to go.

There were butchers before 1945 LOL...
