Glue, or Bolt Down Fingerboard Extension?
I'm finishing up a build started by another luthier. It is a steel string with Osage orange back and sides and a Manzer wedge. His classical guitar business took off, and he sold this unfinished to me. It has a bolt on neck. I've got it strung up and the neck angle aligns well with the upper body. I'm debating either gluing down the extension normally or bolting it on. The neck block has an extension under the top to the upper face brace, and it is substantial enough to use the bolt on method. I would rout the top to receive a mahogany block slightly smaller than the extension, glue the block to the extension, and install a threaded insert into the block. I like the idea of being able to remove the neck easily, but wonder if it's going to more trouble than it's worth, and would there be any appreciable difference in sound or stability. Does anyone have experience with this? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Given the difference between doing a neck re-set on an older Taylor pre-NT neck and the newer NT neck ... I think bolt on is the answer.
