Just to throw this in here, for fun, of course.
I think, a thread like this can be taken in two ways.
One, who is your favorite female guitarist, which, IMO, could mean who did you actually intensively listen to, or even studied in some way.
Two, who is your favorite female guitarist, which could also mean, who did you listen to in passing or just happened to hear about.
It may make each individual list relatively just a little shorter or longer.

Ellen McIlwaine! There's a blast from the past! I used to listen to her on the radio when I was in college!

Wanda Vick can play anything with strings.
Alison Brown is more known for her jazz and new age banjo style, but she can play a guitar with best of them.
Shawn Colvin has her own thing going for guitar.
Lisa Loeb. I saw her open for Lyle Lovett once, and her band's flight came from somewhere else than she did, but got held and they were late. Late enough that they didn't make the show. She came onstage by herself with just an acoustic guitar and held the audience for a full 45 minute set.

All very impressive!
Another vote for Jonatha Brooke! Saw her a few years ago when I had no idea who she was, and have been a fan since. And of course, Bonnie Raitt... and... and... so many others.
