Default Need suggestions for cheap archtop project

Hi!
I'm looking for a cheap archtop guitar. I'm completely new to archtops, I play acoustic guitar and a bit of electric guitar but recently the archtops have caught my eye I have a pair of piezo elements that I'm thinking of using in one. I've been looking at The Loar LH 309 VS and the LH 300 VS. If I have understood correctly the only difference between these two is the P90 and volume/tone in the 309. Does anyone have any experience with these two, or does anyone have any other suggestions for cheap archtops? Is the 309 worth the extra money for the P90?

Thanks!

I have the LH350, it has a floating pickup instead of drilled on pickups, which I prefer since it doesn't change the acoustic tone. The tops with drilled in pickups change the acoustic tone dramatically. But if you plan to play it completely electric then either one will do.

If your plan is to experiment with acoustic archtop tones via the piezo pickups, then the 300 is the best choice by far. As said, the mounted pickup definitely changes the acoustic tone.

I would suggest you also look at the Godin 5th Avenue - http://www.godinguitars.com/godin5thaveseriesp.htm - here's a pic of the acoustic-only one:

I own a 5th Avenue CW Kingpin II with 2 P90's, and I like it a lot - however, the 2 screwed-on P90's do affect the acoustic-only tone...
