Default Interesting Way to do a 9 or 12 string

So saw on Furch's website that they do a traditional 6 bridge pin design, but for their 9 strings (doubled e,b,g, strings) and 12 strings, they do a string-thru model on the bridge. Here is the link: https://furchguitars.com/us/guitar-v...tring-guitars/

A very interesting concept! I don’t have the technical knowledge to know if it will be beneficial sound-wise, but it looks very attractive.

I reckon it will blow a few minds amongst the “Which is better, pinless- or pin-bridges?” brigade!

Just needs the Rickenbacker-style solid/slotted hybrid approach to the tuning pegs to complete the package at the other end!

That's a great design, a clean look, and it has got to make re-stringing faster. Wish my Taylor 12-string had something like this.

Default Ryan

I believe Ryan does a 10 string which also uses this arrangement plus reverse octive on the G-D strings.

The reason for the pass through octive strings is closer spacing and reduced overall tension.

Here is the link to the 9 string variant: https://furchguitars.com/us/guitar-v...tring-guitars/

Also a video of one being played: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-G33DtsYg8

this makes me think of the rickenbacher 12-string headstocks.
compact, lightweight, attractive ...
why don't more builders use this style?
clever.

Yeah, but to me, that Rickenbacher looks like a nightmare to restring lol.

Interesting, I like the looks of it. Wander what it would cost to get a new bridge for the Tak?
