So it can be done!
A heelless X20, 12 frets to body and massive cutaway. Yeah, I know it's custom but.....

There has been one or two heel-less x20's. But i think that may be an X30 hes playing in the video 🤔

Could very well be but that isn't what he has put in the video description

Nice voice. Also like the guitar.

Or maybe he made a typo in the description? With a 12th fret body join, that looks like an X30 to me. The whole guitar is never shown in the video.

However, there are magic wonders coming out of Donegal, and if a guitar can be thought of, Alistair can build it. |

BTW, Alistair responded to my inquiry about the possibility that I heard he is entertaining the idea of a heelless X20 and he said, "Rumors!". That isn't saying yes, but it isn't saying no. |

I play my X20 routinely up the fret #17 in certain tunings and have no issues with the current design. I can also play my Rainsong WS-1000 up there too. The neck heel does not seem to be problem -- for me. Access to the cutaway is quite good on X20.
My X30 has a heelless neck but a 12-fret body join. I can reach as far up as I care to on it too. But if no heel is what you want and you are willing to pay for it..... who am I to question? |
