On-line is a great resource, lots to learn but... If you are already well on your way, and can find a working professional that teaches, they can show what you need to know. They can connect you to their network of students and musicians, and perhaps even sub you in for gigs that they can't cover.

You still have to learn the stuff yourself, nobody can do that for you, but having such a resource is invaluable.

Advantage in person. A in person coach can spot mistakes in finger positions or picking or strumming errors. He or she can offer instant feedback.
