Confirmed to have a MAP of $1499. Still in my opnion too much for a foreign built Martin Road Series instrument. Also I have mixed feelings about Martin building their innovative new products outside the USA. Perhaps that is the right choice for this model

Is being able to play all the way up the neck really going to revolutionize acoustic guitar performance playing the way Martin is touting? I've never really felt this was a major hindrance on my typical cutaway. I really don't see this model as such a game changer as their videos are claiming.

I think you're right, and I think they'll sell boat loads of them.

Not going to happen, but it would be interesting. I doubt there would be any difference in tone if any?

I really like the concept and specs but not the sound. It sounded weak and somewhat shrill to me. I predict it will cease to be made soon but will continue to be referred to from now on much like the Gibson oddball based on science. I forget the series nomenclature.

I got one from a bricks and mortar music shop in the the UK delivered today.
Quick first impressions: Quote:

Albeit from my first impressions of just about an hour playing with it after unboxing, this is very noticeable. Certainly the new design gives physical access to places you probably never thought about playing before, but it really enhances the general playability around 5 - 10. And I did not think my "traditional" Martins suffered from any lack of playability - the opposite. I can really see myself having a use for this guitar and I think it will improve my playing generally in the area of soloing/leads.
