Dudenbostel 12 fret d 42 style
The wait was worth it! Picked up my new one at Lynn's place on Monday. These are shop pics, so please forgive the reflections, shadows, sawdust, etc.
Amazing vintage tone out of the gate; it's gotten a LOT of break-in play this week! Based on the 1932 d-28 #2, but obviously a 42 style with some amazing custom features. Koa/Engelmann, Honduran mahogany neck, ebony pyramid bridge/board, Braz bindings and headstock overlay, Rodgers tuners, fossil walrus ivory nut, saddle, pins, endpin and strap button. All the inlay was designed by Lynn. I can't overstate how enjoyable it was to go through the build process with such an outstanding artist, craftsman, musician and gentleman as Lynn is. Tremendous communication, amazing innovations and an ability to make the wildest idea a reality. It took a while to get the builder I wanted to make the guitar I wanted. And worth every minute. This is really more of a NGD post, but I thought the group here might enjoy it. |

Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing it with us.
I saw Lynn's post about turning that fossilized endpin on his lathe. Too cool.

Thanks, I've spent almost as much time staring as playing!
I'll be around some good recording equipment in about 2 weeks, I'm hoping to put a decent clip together. I thought you might like this one! Would love to hear you play it. Quote:
And, like we do with guitars, he's always looking at getting ONE more! |

As John mentioned a bit ago, Lynn posted some of the turning work on his Facebook page with some commentary. It's worth a look.

Last post I read of yours, you were looking for more gear to do gigs in your 60s. I'm jealous of you!
